Full/Part Time, Male and Female Qualified and Experienced Ayurvedic Doctors

Full-time: 40 working hours per week.

Job description

The successful applicant(s) will possess expert knowledge of Ayurveda and will be responsible for providing accurate consultations, supervising all therapies, and carrying out related supervisory and management responsibilities.

Qualifications & Experience

The Vaidyar must:

  1. Be fully qualified in Ayurveda with a Bachelor of Ayurveda Medicine & Surgery (BAMS) degree, at least three years of active clinical experience, and knowledge of Yoga and Meditation.

  2. Have practiced and trained with a reputable treatment centre, be conversant in Vatha, Pitha & Kapha principles, and conduct satisfactory consultations to identify the root cause of physical and mental imbalances.

  3. Be willing to work with clients’ primary care physicians to provide suitable treatment plans and advice.

  4. Be able to perform Panchakarma, massages, and manipulations, provide aftercare advice, and help Repair, Relax, and Rejuvenate the body, mind, and soul.

  5. Have experience in Natural Beauty Therapies and provide advice on health, wellbeing, and natural products.

  6. Deliver the theoretical aspects of Ayurveda, including Tridosha Theory, through seminars and Zoom meetings, while actively participating in research, courses, events, and presentations.

  7. Recognise clients with rehabilitation and mental health issues and recommend appropriate therapies.

  8. Have knowledge of lifestyle advice, herbal oils, herbs, massages, diets, and provide guidance for both treatment and prevention.

  9. Possess excellent communication skills, be fluent in English, and knowledge of additional languages will be an advantage.

  10. Supervise and manage therapy staff, ensuring hygiene, health, and safety standards are maintained.

  11. Manage practice administration, including reception, bookings, cash handling, banking procedures, and financial reporting.

  12. Oversee the establishment’s safety, security, and utilities.

  13. Contribute to the advertising and promotion of the establishment.

  14. Be computer literate, well organised, punctual, and trustworthy.

Any other related qualifications will be an advantage.

Full/Part Time, Male & Female Ayurveda Therapists

The successful applicant(s) with the help of the Ayurvedic Doctor will be:

  1. Managing clients/patients with challenging rehabilitation issues such as addictive behaviours, post-traumatic stress disorder, grief, depression, stress, eating disorders, trauma, relational conflicts, anxiety, and other mental health issues ranging from mild to severe, and recommending appropriate Ayurvedic therapies.
  2. Using classical Ayurveda for the promotion of health by diagnosing and differentiating diseases/disorders according to Ayurvedic principles and formulating appropriate treatment plans.
  3. Using knowledge and skills relating to the scientific use of medicines and applying therapeutic measures for the maintenance of health and the alleviation of disease.
  4. Developing specific treatment plans based on the individual signs and symptoms of the client.
  5. Giving nutritional, dietary, and preventive medicine advice in terms of Ayurveda.
  6. Reviewing and monitoring the health of clients and modifying treatment accordingly.
  7. Independently researching technical knowledge about clients’ diseases.
  8. Creating a database of clinical experience and research and sharing this information with other healthcare providers.
  9. Comparing the merits and demerits of contemporary healthcare systems to improve knowledge.
  10. Being prepared to participate in courses, events, presentations, and meetings, and assisting with other chores in the garden and kitchen.

We are looking for qualified (Degree or Diploma in Ayurveda and Panchakarma) and skilled Panchakarma/Ayurveda Therapists with experience in Pizhichil, Njavarakizhi, Shirodhara, Abhyangam, Udvarthanam, other Panchakarma therapies, Ayurvedic clinical procedures and examinations, as well as Spa and Beauty Therapies.

Therapists applying from abroad must present an IELTS certificate appropriate for the position. Knowledge of additional languages will be an advantage.

Responsibilities

Therapists are expected to meet and greet clients, work with Practitioners to identify the cause of pain, relieve discomfort, restore function and mobility, and correct irregularities in body structure. Responsibilities include preparing treatment materials, restocking supplies, using herbs, oils, and other natural materials/decoctions, maintaining hygiene and safety standards in treatment areas, keeping daily treatment records, training and supervising junior staff, preparing reports, assisting with reception duties, and ensuring a high standard of client service at all times.

Qualities

Therapists are expected to be mature, honest, and professional, while being attentive, caring, respectful, cooperative, and responsible. They must work in accordance with legal and company policies and guidelines, be accountable for the clinic’s takings, communicate confidently, maintain a flexible approach, and follow specific instructions effectively.

Appearance

Therapists are expected to look fresh, smart, and well-groomed at all times, maintain a clean and professional appearance, and be punctual.
